I found out that if you confine a figure you're studying to it's most basic, flattest, geometric shapes and then build out from there, the final drawing will be greatly improved

Bollywood Fantastic Four
I entered a drawing competition where the challenge was to reinvent the fantastic four as their flea-market/dollarstore/foreign cartoon rip off version. I had a huge amount of fun with this one, and it culminated in a great finished drawing.
